In June, Venn welcomed hundreds of neighbors in Kansas City to Summer on Armour, a day-long, community-wide celebration featuring tons of family activities, music, food, and drink.
The celebration coincided with the launch of Mac+Venn, our latest partnership with the Midwest-based property developers aimed at promoting neighborhood connection and participation among residents. The celebration was broken into a morning wellness session at the pool house recently revamped by Venn’s in-house Design Team, an afternoon maker’s fair, and evening pool party. It was an incredibly busy and fun day. Take a whirl through the pictures below snapped by local KC photographer Shawn Brackbill. Â

The morning session began with a poolside sound bath and yoga session led by Tyra Prosser, a local yogi and founder of United Letti Yoga Studio.

This was the first time Neighbors had the chance to practice at the redesigned pool house featuring a newly painted deck by artist Alex Proba.

After yoga, the energy picked up with water aerobics. Neighbors joined with kids, water wings, and even a mimosa.Â

Hugs all around at the end of the water aerobics session. Now that vaccines are widely available in Kansas City, Neighbors have embraced the opportunity to embrace again.

It wouldn’t be a wellness morning without a mimosa, right? Neighbors enjoyed fresh fruit and drinks served out of Venn’s retrofitted Citroen truck.

In the afternoon, Neighbors had the chance to explore an outdoor market featuring local vendors and artists including Shea Made, a Kansas City-based jeweler.

Quincy, a local candlemaker, mental health professional, and mom shared handmade crafts and a laugh, or two, with Neighbors. Baby Elliot enjoyed himself, too.

Jameson from Dirt Beast Farms, an urban farm collective, sold collard greens, snap peas, and some of the sweetest cherries — all grown in Kansas City.

Neighbors tried to keep a straight face while posing for a custom sketch by local artist Taylor Fourt. When fresh cider and local cherries are involved, that’s easier said than done.

It was a hot one! Neighbors took to the shade of the tent where cold beverages and ice cream were being served.

One of the highlights of the afternoon was an impromptu dance party led by Venn Hosts. DJ Sheppa set the beat as Neighbors and team members joined. We even saw a few pets in the crowd.

As the sun set, the pool house welcomed Neighbors for a party featuring cocktails and a performance by Quixotic, a group of local musicians and performing artists.Â

Neighbors used the Life at Venn app to unlock complimentary drinks and VIP experiences.

A little jazzy, a little techno, the musicians of Quixotic set the tone for an eclectic, multi-sensory experience.

The performers lit up the night, entertaining Neighbors with arabesques and flaming torches flying through the air.

Taking a que from Quixotic, Neighbors hammed it up and posed cabaret-style at the outdoor photo booth.

It was a special night with young folk taking to the pool after dark and parents letting the kiddos stay up past their bedtime.

Inside the pool house, Neighbors had the opportunity to tap into their inner selves with tarot readings.

Back outside, the party continued late into the night with Neighbors enjoying the water and the warmth of being all together again.
